Our mission in this program is to invest in the interests of our high school-aged youth. By taking on a mentorship roll in the lives of these young people, the Brookville Fire Department hopes to encourage positive character growth while exposing each cadet to the experiences of firefighting and emergency medical services. For those who remain interested, the gap between high school and Firefighter I & II, or EMT Basic college courses can be eased so students will have a better understanding of what lies ahead in those educational fields.
The program is open to High School students (ages 14 to 19 years of age). To become involved with the cadet program, each interested party is required to fill out an application, including guardianship information and signatures for those under the age of 18. Just like school athletics, cadets are required to carry a 2.0 GPA.
