The City of Brookville operates under a charter known as the “Mayor-Council-Manager Plan.” The Council is comprised of six members elected at large for four-year staggered terms with a directly elected Mayor who serves a four-year term and is afforded a vote on all issues. City Council appoints a City Manager who serves as the chief executive, administrative, and law enforcement officer of the City, and is responsible to the Council for the administration of all municipal affairs. The City Manager plans, organizes, and directs the overall City government, monitors the City’s activities, and ensures that Council policies and directives are properly implemented and monitored.
