Part Time Zoning Enforcement Officer

The City of Brookville is accepting resumes for a part-time Zoning Enforcement Officer. The position provides a variety of technical support tasks for the Zoning/Economic Development Department.

The selected candidate serves as a code compliance officer, investigating violations and initiating procedures to abate the violation and obtain compliance. Performs a variety of routine general office functions and conducts daily field inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with zoning code and existing structure code; investigates complaints of non-compliance; conducts inspections; notifies violators; initiates and processes court actions. Performs exterior maintenance inspections; investigates complaints of unsafe/unsanitary structures; enforces regulations regarding existing structure code and industrial restrictions.

Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); one or more years of experience and/or training related to inspection, law enforcement, building inspection, land use, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. This is a part-time, non-exempt position Monday-Friday, with hours varying between 15-28 hours per week. Hourly rate is $15.76 -$20.51 DOQ.

Seasonal Groundskeeper

Job Description

The City of Brookville, Ohio is recruiting to fill Seasonal Groundskeeper positions in the City of Brookville. These positions assist in the daily operation and maintenance of the parks and other City facilities. These positions perform routine tasks in parks maintenance operation, including push mowing, weeding, litter clean-up, and landscape maintenance; operates one or more of the following (depending on age and operator’s license status): push mower, riding mower, line trimmer, and other small equipment; reports for work on time and ready for work at assigned scheduled hours; performs assigned jobs in a safe, efficient, responsible manner. These positions may perform tasks with limited supervision as required. The position works up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday for no more than four consecutive months.

Requirements:

Some previous experience helpful, but not required; groundskeeping experience a plus. Must show initiative, logical thought process, interest in work and ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Able to perform all types of outdoor physical labor in all types of weather. Ability to establish effective working relationships with City staff members, and the general public, possess a positive attitude and reflect a positive image of the City of Brookville at all times. Follows current dress code and other work rules. Candidates must be 18 years old before starting work.

Compensation:

The pay range for these positions is $10.33/hr. – $12.31/hr. Entry rate is contingent upon the candidate’s related skills, knowledge, abilities, and prior experience.
