Major Tom Simon joined the Brookville Police Department on May 04, 2004 as a part time police officer. He was promoted to full time on December 23, 2004. During his career, Major Simon worked as a road patrol officer, Field Training Officer (FTO), defensive tactics instructor, firearms instructor and detective.
Major Simon was promoted to the rank of Captain on September 20, 2012. As a Captain, he was in charge of the Operations Division; consisting of our road patrol, investigations and internal investigations. He currently remains the investigations supervisor. He was promoted to the rank of Major on July 10, 2014.
Major Simon is a native of Montgomery County and graduated from Brookville High School and attended Sinclair Community College. He completed his Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice at Ashworth College. In 2013, Major Simon attended the Inaugural Class of the Ohio Public Safety Leadership Academy sponsored by the Ohio State University - John Glenn School of Public Affairs. Major Simon will be graduating in January 2020 with his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice: Public Administration.
